What to do on Maggie

If hiking and history is your thing then traverse the hills walking tracks for the amazing views from the World War II Forts.
For something unique visit the Stage Door Theatre Restaurant at Arcadia Bay and the handful of local artists galleries on offer.
A visit wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Bungalow Bay Koala Park to get up close with some of our native wildlife.

Getting to Maggie
Vehicle collection and return are via our Townsville depot, around the corner from the Townsville airport and a 10 minute drive to Magnetic Island Ferries.
We permit all our vehicle’s to be used on Magnetic Island (*Conditions apply, see below), simply book your vehicle of choice with 1300Meteor and head to www.MagneticIslandFerries.com.au to book your barge time.
Please note if you are using a larger vehicle, like our moving trucks or a people mover that takes more than 5 people you will need to contact Magnetic Island Ferries on (07) 4796 9300 or hello@magneticislandferries.com.au to book.
Magnetic Island Ferries: Vehicles 5.5m and under have a weight limit of 2.5t, 5.6-6m vehicles have a weight limit of 3t . If the weight limit is exceeded, vehicle pricing will be moved up to the next category of Campervan or Truck. Please note, these vehicles cannot be booked online and must be booked with the office. All Motor Vehicle Fares include up to five passengers who can legally sit in the vehicle. All passengers need to be in the vehicle while loading and unloading on & off the vessel.
*Beach use prohibited.
Unsealed Road Usage
While our cars and minivans cannot be used off sealed roads (other than unsealed detours to accommodate official roadworks to gazetted sealed roads) we do have a great range of 4x4's that are, and our standard Loss and Damage Cover remains valid to such use.
*Beach use prohibited. Cars are allowed on sealed bitumen roads. 4x2 utes, vans and trucks are allowed on well graded unsealed roads. 4x4’s are allowed off road (excluding beaches). Please note underbody and water immersion damage is the renters liability.
