The days of manual transmissions are all but over! Even prime movers these days have automated gearboxes. 1300 Meteor has a policy of only buying automatic vehicles that can be driven on a car licence (even our light trucks), due to client demand and the flexibility it gives with drivers (auto only car licence is all you need!)

With this in mind our most recent Single Cab utility purchases have been new Mitsubishi Triton 4x2 Hi-Riders featuring a powerful but economical 2.4L turbo diesel engine coupled with a 5 speed automatic transmission a combination that makes for relaxed driving!

Did you know that a turbo diesel powered utility uses around 30 35% less fuel than its petrol counterpart? Not to mention substantially more power for heavy loads and towing!

The Triton 'Hi-Rider' has similar ground clearance to the 4x4 version, giving it the capability to handle more demanding job sites. Towing capacity remains a generous 2.5 tonnes for a braked trailer.
