The Townsville 400 event starts today, and 1300 Meteor Rentals have part sponsored one of the Super Trucks new to this years event!

Driver Shaun Richardson is the proporietor of Positive Quality Trailers in Contaff Brisbane and we recently purchased a number of 8 x 5' 'V' nose furniture trailers with drop down rear ramps from them. Enjoy the attached clip showing Shauns' Super Truck (and our new trailers)!

Shaun Richardson Set to Make SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Truck Debut

CLONTARF Englishman, Shaun Richardson will make his SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS debut in Townsville, Australia during the Castrol EDGE Townsville 400, July 8-10. During the upcoming three visits to Australia for the series, Richardson will be paying his respects to international stuntman, Neil Cunningham, who lost his battle to Motor Neuron Disease.

To honor his friend, Richardson will be wearing a special helmet that will feature a collage of photos of Cunningham during the series' visits to Townsville, July 8-10; Gold Coast, October 21-23 and Sydney, November 25-27. At the end of the season, the race-worn helmet will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on www.racing4mnd.org. Cunningham raced competitively for 27 years. He was also a stuntman for BBC's Top Gear Live and for the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

"Neil was an amazing friend, race car driver and also a great stunt man," Richardson said. "He will be sadly missed by many around the world."

Richardson is no stranger when it comes to professional racing. He has raced in a variety of disciplines and has worked in TV and the entertainment industry. The Englishman was born in a northern steel town in the United Kingdom, and he has always had a passion to compete in anything that had wheels and an engine. Throughout the decades, Richardson has raced in Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, United States of America and Australia. Now, Richardson looks forward to taking on the new challenge of competing in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS.

"I was blown away the first time that I watched the Stadium SUPER Trucks, and I could not believe how exited I was while only as a spectator," Richardson said. "When I got the opportunity to go racing in one of these trucks, I just said 'where do I sign'. What more could you ask for as a race car driver? The series has it all. It features international street racing, ramps, 600 HP and door-to-door racing, where you are not going to get a penalty for leaning on the other driver.

"When you go to the racetrack as a driver or a spectator, it's the energy of everyone that makes something successful. I have not seen energy like this at any event for 15 years. What Robby Gordon and his guys have done with this championship is amazing, and it's only going to grow each year. Robby approaches the sport from a different angle and is attracting big names and big sponsors."

Positive Quality Trailers, Positive Automotive American Importers and global logistics company, Savino Del Bene will be the livery on the No. 12 truck for the first event coming up in Townsville. As for the future beyond the three events scheduled this year, Richardson is currently searching for additional sponsorship to compete in the full, 12-round championship season in 2017.
